Spending Time with Wim Hof Just After His 67th Birthday

There are some moments in life that feel quietly surreal.

Spending time with Wim Hof just after his 67th birthday was one of them.

Known around the world as “The Iceman,” Wim Hof has spent decades challenging what many of us believe is possible within the human body. Through breathwork, cold exposure and mindset, his work has opened up a global conversation around resilience, stress, the immune system, inflammation, the nervous system and the hidden strengths we all carry within us.

His message has always fascinated me because, at its heart, it points to something deeply empowering: the body is capable of far more than many of us have been taught to believe.

And that is exactly why this moment meant so much to me.

Just after his birthday, I had the chance to give Wim my book, The Serenity Reset, as a birthday gift. Watching him accept it was incredibly moving — not because it was a grand gesture, but because of what the moment represented.

The Serenity Reset was born from my own journey through burnout, fibromyalgia, grief and nervous system dysregulation. It is about understanding that we are not broken. So often, the body is not attacking us — it is protecting us. Pain, fatigue, anxiety, hypervigilance and collapse can all be signs of a nervous system that has been pushed beyond its capacity for too long.

Wim’s work explores the power of the breath, the cold, the mind and the body’s natural ability to adapt. My work through The Serenity Reset explores many of those same themes from a trauma-informed, nervous-system-centred perspective — using breathwork, yoga, meditation, NLP, nutrition, rest, connection and compassionate lifestyle change to help the body feel safe enough to heal.

Both approaches meet in one powerful place:

The body has wisdom. The breath is a doorway. And we are far more capable of change than we realise.

Giving Wim my book felt like a full-circle moment. His work has inspired millions of people to look beyond limitation and become curious about the body’s natural intelligence. My hope with The Serenity Reset is to help people do the same — especially those who feel exhausted, overwhelmed, burnt out, in pain or disconnected from themselves.

Because healing is not always about pushing harder.

Sometimes it begins with learning to listen.

Sometimes it begins with one breath.

And sometimes, it begins with the belief that your body may not be betraying you at all — it may simply be asking for safety, regulation, rest and a new way forward.

What a privilege to share this work with Wim Hof, and what a beautiful reminder that the conversation around natural resilience, nervous system healing and human potential is only just beginning.
